Mesquite is a gnarly tree with very little "clean" and straight wood available. It is usually full of cracks, bark inclusions, worm or ant holes, and various other "undesirables". However, when used with Mesquite's natural character, these flaws that would ruin other wood, make mesquite stand apart from the crowd.
From looking at the outer shell of the tree, it is easy to believe that there is nothing attractive about Mesquite, but as soon as you make the first cut into the log, the true beauty is exposed.
To those who know better, Mesquite is the ultimate in hardwood, incredibly stable, incredibly hard, incredibly full of character, and worthy of being used in almost any application.
